A Lockheed T-33 fighter jet of the Royal Air Force crashed into houses along the Zeelsterstraat and the Bergen op Zoomstraat in the city district Strijp in Eindhoven. The pilot, who lived in the Bergen op Zoomstraat, has died in the accident, just as a citizen who was cleaning his moped. 18 other people got injured, 9 of whom were admitted, seven houses have been totally destroyed and eight others are heavily damaged. General A. Baretta, chief of the Air Force staff, visits the crash site were soldiers clear away the remains of the fighter jet.
