A comic one-act film in which a bellhop finds a stolen diamond and gets into an argument with the Egyptian thief. A bellhop in a hotel catches a thief who is in the process of shaving off his beard, and then finds a diamond and a letter stating that a wealthy family is expecting an Egyptian, regarding the marriage of their daughter. After a confrontation with the thief, the bellhop puts on a disguise and takes the diamond to the family, where the thief also turns up. A flashback shows that the diamond has been stolen from an “Egyptian” statue. A fight and gunplay ensue, in part on a high roof, from which we can see New York (?) in the background. After a spectacular extended jump out of a window, the fighting continues until the house catches fire. The thief emerges from the rubble; he finds the diamond, but the bellhop catches him.
